Natural and manmade forms fascinate me and my work seeks correlation between the two. A star made of traffic cones resembles a grain of pollen, spiked seedpod, or diatom. Common everyday objects are created for function yet retain inherent aesthetic. Synthesizing macro and micro patterns of nature with human-crafted objects creates dual dialogue between the manufactured and organic, conveying the exquisite importance of life, itself. By taking objects out of their original context, I eliminate their intended function to reveal unexpected beauty.
